ABOUT TIM

Hi! I'm Tim Ehrenberg and I live on Nantucket Island in Massachusetts. I have loved books before I could even talk. This is me on a Christmas morning at 5 years old super excited about my shark book. I get just as excited about new books today! I started "Tim Talks Books" to share that enthusiasm for my favorite reads and as a way to connect with my favorite authors and book people.

I am the President of the Nantucket Book Foundation, a nonprofit that presents the Nantucket Book Festival every June, and Marketing, Events, and E-commerce Director for Nantucket Book Partners, Nantucket's two independent bookstores. I co-host the literary podcast Books, Beach, & Beyond with #1 best-selling author and "Queen of the Beach Reads" Elin Hilderbrand. Some of my favorite podcast episodes featured memorable conversations with Sarah Jessica Parker, Nicole Kidman, John Grisham, Dan Brown, Ina Garten, Ann Patchett, Jenna Bush Hager, and Elizabeth Strout to name just a few. I am also Director of Marketing for the Nantucket Book Foundation and I'm a contributor to N, Nantucket's lifestyle magazine, where I have written a monthly "Need to Read" column of book picks for the last 10 years.

Some of my favorite books are Far from the Tree by Andrew Solomon, The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne, I Know This Much is True by Wally Lamb, 11/22/63 by Stephen King, The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon, Tomorrow and Tomorrow and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, A Little Life by Hanya Yanagihara, All of Agatha Christie's mysteries, Hamnet by Maggie O'Farrell, Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult, The Art of Fielding by Chad Harbach, and East of Eden by John Steinbeck,. Auto-buy authors for me are Jodi Picoult, Stephen King, Ann Patchett, Emma Straub, Wally Lamb, Anthony Horowitz, Louise Penny, Elizabeth George, Geraldine Brooks, Tayari Jones, Donna Tartt, Dan Brown, Elizabeth Strout, and so many more.
I love a good whodunnit mystery and have a soft spot for books with time travel in them. I was a history major in college, so I am particularly fascinated with any books and novels about the Kennedy assassination, Titanic, and 9/11. I like big books, (and I cannot lie). Seriously, though, I love a long book with hundreds and hundreds of pages to get lost in. I was obsessed with the Harry Potter series, I love a beach read from Elin Hilderbrand, and it should be a crime how much I love Agatha Christie.

"Tim Talks Books" has been featured on Oprah's Book Club, The Today Show's Read with Jenna, NBC News Now, CBS this Morning, The Boston Globe, Publisher's Weekly, and Book of the Month Club. I have also had the pleasure of interviewing some of my favorite writers all over the world from Prague to US Book Festivals in Nantucket, Boston, Nashville, and Aspen. Originally from Wisconsin, and before I washed ashore on Nantucket Island in 2013, I was a song and dance man, most notably on a USO tour to Baghdad, Iraq in 2010.
